January (?) Negotiations begin for a peace with Holland
January 31 Mme de Guise has a gala lunch "with music"
January-July Mme de Guise is often at court. She tries to sell the Luxembourg to Condé. She will be a court for Carnival.
February 10 Monsieur and Madame go to Montmartre, where they are entertained by "music" prepared by Mme de Toscane
March 3 Mme de Guise, Mme de Toscane and the queen visit the Carmelites of rue du Bouloir
March 16 Bout de l'An for Alençon (if there was one)
April 3 Monsieur and Madame attend sung tenebrae services at Montmartre. Mme de Montmartre has invited the king to attend. Many people attend.
April 13 A fête at the Hôtel de Guise
April 17 Brinvilliers is arrested
May Mme Goibault du Bois dies
May 16 A Lorraine d'Elbeuf takes the veil at the nuns of Sainte-Marie on the rue St.-Jacques, in presence of Mme de Guise, Mme de Toscane, and "all the princesses of the house of Lorraine."
May 22 to Pentecost Mme de Guise is at St-Cloud, then to St-Germain -en-Laye for Pentecost
June 8 Mme de Guise is in Paris for a few days
July 12 Father Verthamon, S.J., (the uncle by marriage of Marie Talon-Voisin, who signed Elisabeth Charpentier's wedding contract in the early 1660s) gives a latin harangue in honor of Louis XIII and officiates at the pontifical mass that is part of the consecration of the Jesuit church of St. Louis
July 28 The young Harcourt girl who is being prepared as abbess of Montmartre takes theveil in presence of the princesses of the house of Lorraine (which include Mlle de Guise)
July-August Mme de Guise is at court
August-September Capitulation of Aire and Maestricht; attacks by the Dutch. Monsieiur plays an active role in these battles. Te Deum sung at Notre-Dame on August 5
August 7 Mlle de Guise creates a hospital at Guise
August 7 First performance of La Triomphe des Dames, with music by Charpentier
Mme de Guise promises to contribue 300 livres per year to the charitable activities of St-Sulpice
September 7 Mme de Guise is briefly at the Luxembourg
Fall Both Barré's institute to prepare the teachers of the Infant Jesus, and the Hôtel de l'Enfant Jésus open their doors to pupils
October 5 Baptism at Saint-Cloud of Duke of Chartres and Mlle de Chartres, the children of Monsieur and Madame (Mme de Guise is her godmother), followed by a collation and an "opera". The festivities included "converzatione di musica", which could refer to Charpentier's little dialogue.
October 15 Mme de Guise and the queen visit the Carmelites of rue du Bouloir for feast of St. Theresa
October 23 Mme de Guise is in Paris
November Mme de Guise creates, at Alençon, a house for Nouvelles Converties, that is, new women converts to Catholicism, and she plays an active role in the conversion of a Huguenot woman at the Jesuit Novitiate (note: this is a rectification of May 2013. It was a silly mistake for me to say this happened at Saint-Louis!)
December 24 The Orléans attend a "salut en musique" at the Theatines
