January 20 Mlle de Guise organizes a Te Deum at the new church of Montmartre, in thanksgiving for the king's recovery.
January 30 Mme de Guise hosts a grand fete at the Luxembourg to celebrate the king's recovery.
January Monsieur entertains the Ambassador of Siam at Saint-Cloud and has L'Inconnu performed, doubtlessly with Charpentier's music.
February 8 Service in honor of Louis XIV's recovery at the Académie des Beaux Arts, with music by Charpentier.
February Celse Martyr performed at the Jesuit college, with music by Charpentier.
May 10 Louis XIV and the Dauphin set off for the northern frontier.
June 5 The Dauphin attends the "Petite Fete Dieu," having dashed back to Versailles.
June Archbishop Harlay de Chanvallon is very ill.
July 20 The Cordeliers organize a sung mass at Port-Royal of Paris, to honor the abbess and to thank God for the archbishop's recovery. Musical vespers end the day.
November 13 Mme de Guise has returned from Alençon; Mlle de Guise's health is very poor.
November 22 The first annual St Cecilia's Day fete for the musicians of Versailles.
November24 The Dauphin attends an "Italian" opera.
Early December Mlle de Guise is dying from cancer. Roquette comes to Paris. (Mlle de Guise dies on March 3, 1688.)
